Jessica Guest qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Nottingham. She was keen to pursue a career in Paediatrics from her student experience but also from the years she has spent working with children at Leicester City and Nottingham Forest football clubs.
Jess also has her own physiotherapy business treating adults in a community setting with various physiotherapy needs ranging from post stroke neurological rehabilitation to MSK injury rehabilitation. Jess’ current caseload takes her to a variety of Mainstream, Resourced and Specialist schools and she also works with children and families in their own homes. Jess plays a role in training school staff and carers to assist with each child’s rehabilitation program.
Jessica Guest has experience working closely with children aged 0-19 with a vast array of different conditions including: Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy, Down’s Syndrome, Development Delay and other Chromosomal Abnormalities. Jess works within a large multi-disciplinary team to ensure there is a co-ordinated approach amongst those working with families in both the community and acute settings. These professionals include: Paediatricians, Inclusion School Nurses, Case Managers, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Orthotists.
Jess tailors her approach by talking to the child and family about their interests. She uses her enthusiasm and creativity to make all therapy sessions fun to ensure the child remains motivated and happy.
Jess always strives to do her best for the families she works with and will adapt her therapy to ensure it is specific and works towards a family centred goal.
