Jennie Straker

Children’s Specialist Physiotherapist

Jennie Straker qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2014 with a BSc (Hons) from Sheffield Hallam University.

During her time at University, Jennie volunteered in a children’s circus class and from this knew she wanted to pursue her career as a children’s Physiotherapist.

Jennie first worked doing rotations in acute and community settings, before starting work as a children’s Physiotherapist in 2016 with the North Lincolnshire NHS Trust.

Jennie has a lot of experience working in community and outpatients’ settings with children with a range of different conditions including Cerebral Palsy, developmental delay, Down’s syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy and Spina Bifida.

Within her NHS role, Jennie works in a large multidisciplinary team including Paediatricians, Orthopaedic Consultants, Neuromuscular consultants, Pain management team, Inclusion School Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Orthotists.

Jennie has also trained as a Pilates teacher for both adults and children and can use this to aid her treatment sessions.

Jennie is passionate about children reaching their full potential and goals. Jennie enjoys working with the child and family to set personal goals and then helping them to achieve those goals, while trying to make physiotherapy fun and motivating.
