Specialist Children’s Physiotherapist
Vanessa Rhule is a Registered Physiotherapist and received her BSc with Honors from the prestigious University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica in 2011. She also completed a transitional Doctorate in Physiotherapy in 2015 with Utica College, New York and currently a practicing Physiotherapist, privately in Nottingham, UK.
Her passion for working with children started on her first clinical rotation in a Neonatal Intensive Care and following up with the same patient after discharge – being a part of different stages of the child’s recovery. Since her qualification, Vanessa’s experience in Paediatric Physiotherapy spans from working in hospitals, private clinics and within the community.
Vanessa Rhule has treated children from 5 days old to 18 years old, with various conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Global Developmental Delays, Spinal Cord Injuries, Spina Bifida and Autism. She has also worked with the under 16 and 21 Jamaica National Football Teams – providing both pitch side physiotherapy at tournaments and, pre- and post- season physiotherapy. She is also an Aquatic Therapist who is experienced in preparing goal oriented treatment programmes in the water.
Vanessa strives to achieve the very best outcome with everyone she works with by keeping up to date with current evidence based practice and developing individualised treatment programmes. She brings lots of energy to each session while keeping the child and their parents/care giver’s goals at the forefront of it all. Her zeal for working with children and their families make sessions varied, fun and effective!
Outside of physiotherapy, she has a keen interest in motor sports and has marshalled for motor rallies and raceway events. She is also a Violinist since the tender age of 4 years old and been a member of many string Ensembles and Orchestras
